SEOPS Week 7 Power Rankings
Six weeks down. Ironton stays No. 1 after an overtime battle with unbeaten Big Walnut. Miami Trace reaches No. 8, Portsmouth West and South Point climb, and five teams remain unbeaten. Week 7 is headlined by Miami Trace at Chillicothe.
Through six weeks
Top spot retained
Since the Week 5 poll
No. 3 Chillicothe
The No. 1 spot stays put. Taking unbeaten Big Walnut to overtime in a 47-40 loss is not enough to erase Ironton's first five wins or the strength of its schedule. Bloomington South (IN) comes to town Saturday.
A 42-19 win over Tri-Valley adds another convincing result to a 6-0 start. The Panthers remain the closest challenger to Ironton, with Meadowbrook next at home.
The Cavaliers answered another test with a 49-6 win at McClain. Now No. 8 Miami Trace visits: a chance for unbeaten Chillicothe to strengthen its case near the very top.
A 42-0 shutout of Meigs keeps the Buckeyes unbeaten and firmly at No. 4. Their trip to Wellston is the next chance to extend a season built on consistent results.
The Cadets handled Caldwell 38-7 and stay in the Top 5 at 6-0. Barnesville is next; another win would keep Fort Frye in the middle of the unbeaten chase.
The Vikings put up 62 at Green and enter Week 7 at 6-0. Scott Tomlison's Beaver Eastern team now visits, giving Symmes a direct test against a ranked SOC I opponent.
A 39-0 shutout of Adena keeps the Shermans 5-1. Wins over Jackson and Athens still matter in this power poll; a trip to Piketon is the next opportunity to build on that resume.
The 21-20 win at Jackson is the result that pushes Miami Trace to No. 8. The Panthers get another major road opportunity immediately: unbeaten No. 3 Chillicothe.
Five wins against one loss keep Sheridan in the Top 10 after a 40-20 victory at Morgan. John Glenn is next on the road as the Generals look to keep the momentum going.
A 40-7 win over Warren keeps the Bulldogs at No. 10 and 5-1. Meigs offers a ranked road matchup and another chance to reinforce Athens' position among the leaders.
The Senators followed a shutout of Waverly with a 43-0 win at Minford. Consecutive shutouts and a 5-1 record put West on the Top 10 doorstep, with No. 20 Valley next.
Winning 30-24 at Fairland gives the Pointers another useful head-to-head result. At 5-1, South Point moves to No. 12 and hosts Chesapeake looking to keep climbing.
The Wildcats responded with a 35-0 shutout of Eastern Meigs. Losses to Fort Frye and Nelsonville-York do not erase the rest of a 4-2 season; Southern visits next.
A one-point loss to Miami Trace leaves Jackson 3-3, but its defeats came against Ironton, Unioto and Trace. The win over Wheelersburg still counts, and Hillsboro is the next chance to respond.
A 47-24 win over Southeastern makes it three consecutive wins. The earlier head-to-head victory over Zane Trace keeps Huntington just ahead of the Pioneers, with Adena next at home.
The Pioneers beat Piketon 48-27 and are 5-1. That record earns a move back toward the top, while the head-to-head loss to Huntington keeps the teams together at Nos. 15 and 16.
Steubenville handed the Pirates a 37-14 loss, but a difficult schedule helps explain the 3-3 record. Wheelersburg's win over Valley remains a separator as Oak Hill comes to town.
A 44-0 win at Liberty Union gives the Falcons another shutout and a 4-2 record. A trip to No. 22 Circleville provides a direct test of their place in this tightly packed group.
A 49-0 win over Oak Hill brings the Tigers back to .500. The wins over Unioto and Valley still carry weight, but the full six-game body of work keeps Waverly at No. 19 for now.
The Indians stopped their slide with a 42-10 win over Northwest. Going to No. 11 Portsmouth West offers a much stronger opportunity to earn back ground in the poll.
The Dragons lost a close one to South Point, 30-24, and settle just outside the Top 20. A trip to Portsmouth gives Fairland an immediate chance to get back on track.
Hamilton Township's 28-0 win checks the Tigers' momentum. The overtime victory over McClain keeps Circleville ahead of that fellow 4-2 team, with Fairfield Union visiting next.
The Tigers' 49-6 loss to Chillicothe gives more context to the earlier unbeaten start. McClain remains ahead of much of the field at 4-2, but a trip to Washington is important after two setbacks.
Nelsonville-York's 42-0 win was a difficult result, but Meigs still has four victories. Hosting No. 10 Athens gives the Marauders an immediate opportunity to change the conversation.
Waterford handed the Eagles a 35-0 loss. The earlier win over Beaver Eastern keeps the head-to-head edge in this part of the poll; Federal Hocking is next on the road.
A 37-2 win over Sciotoville gets the Eagles to 4-2. The next assignment is much bigger: a road trip to unbeaten No. 6 Symmes Valley, with an opportunity to make a real ranking statement.
A 39-0 shutout of Federal Hocking continues Belpre's climb to 4-2. The Golden Eagles can strengthen that improvement with a road win at Trimble.
A 49-0 win at River View restores a .500 record. The earlier head-to-head win over Alexander still helps Crooksville's case, and West Muskingum comes to town next.
The Redstreaks scored 27 but allowed 48 at Zane Trace. Now No. 7 Unioto visits, giving Piketon a major chance to improve a 3-3 record and move back up.
Huntington's 47-24 win leaves the Panthers 4-2. The promising start still matters, but Southeastern needs a response at home against Westfall.
The 36-28 win over Alexander gives Vinton County a direct edge over a fellow 3-3 team. A trip to Northwest offers the chance to move above .500.
A 36-28 loss at Vinton County puts Alexander behind the Vikings in this group. River Valley visits next, with both teams looking to build a stronger second half.
The Rebels handled Notre Dame 34-7 to reach 4-2. That head-to-head win strengthens their position, and a trip to Sciotoville is next.
Sixty-one points were just enough in a 61-55 win over Hillsboro. Washington climbs to 2-4, but tightening up defensively will matter when No. 23 McClain visits.
A 39-12 win over Trimble gets the Tornadoes back to .500. Their trip to No. 13 Waterford is a chance to turn an improving record into a much stronger ranking argument.
The Braves put up 20 at Bloom-Carroll but fell 34-20. A trip to Amanda-Clearcreek offers a nearby-ranked matchup and an opportunity to improve a 2-4 record.
Reynoldsburg's 41-7 win leaves Logan 1-5. The earlier victory over Warren is part of why the Chieftains remain here, but Lancaster offers another demanding test.
Athens handed Warren a 40-7 loss. The Warriors head to John Marshall (WV) looking for a response and their third victory of the season.
The Warriors were shut out 39-0 at Unioto and are back to 3-3. A trip to No. 15 Huntington brings another tough opponent, but also a direct chance to climb.
An 8-7 loss at Purcell Marian was much closer than the 1-5 record suggests. Gallia Academy is next, giving Rock Hill a chance to turn a competitive performance into a win.
Portsmouth West's 43-0 win leaves Minford at 3-3. The Falcons host No. 19 Waverly next and need a stronger offensive showing to get back above .500.
Gallia Academy won 33-13, leaving the Hornets 2-4. Coal Grove, Portsmouth and Gallia have split head-to-head results in a circle, so the full season matters in ordering this group.
A 20-3 win at Chesapeake supplies another positive result and a 2-4 record. Hosting No. 21 Fairland gives Portsmouth a chance to make a much bigger move.
The Blue Devils broke through with a 33-13 win at Coal Grove. At 1-5, there is still ground to recover, but hosting Rock Hill offers a chance to build on that result.
Portsmouth won 20-3 to leave Chesapeake 2-4. A road trip to No. 12 South Point is a demanding next step for an offense seeking a stronger response.
A 34-7 loss at South Gallia brings Notre Dame back to 3-3. Green visits Saturday, giving the Titans an opportunity to get above .500 again.
The 28-20 win over Wellston provides a clear head-to-head separator between two 2-4 teams. Alexander is next on the road as River Valley looks to build momentum.
River Valley took the head-to-head meeting 28-20, leaving Wellston 2-4. Hosting unbeaten Nelsonville-York is a tough assignment, but an obvious opportunity to change the ranking outlook.
Clark Montessori won 28-12, but Manchester remains above .500 at 3-2. A Saturday trip to Belmont gives the Greyhounds a chance to respond.
A 20-13 road win at Marietta delivers the Aces' first victory. Logan Elm visits next, with a chance to turn that breakthrough into back-to-back wins.
Southern's 39-12 win leaves Trimble 1-5. Hosting a 4-2 Belpre team is the next opportunity to find a response and improve the second half of the season.
The Mustangs earned their first win, 43-14 over Paint Valley. A trip to Southeastern gives Westfall a chance to build on that offensive breakthrough.
Fifty-five points still were not enough in the 61-55 loss to Washington. The Indians remain winless and head to Jackson needing a better defensive balance.
The Tigers were within a touchdown of Amanda-Clearcreek but fell 20-13. Williamstown (WV) visits next as Marietta continues searching for its first win.
Beaver Eastern won 37-2, leaving the Tartans 1-5. South Gallia comes to town next, and generating more offense is the clearest path toward a better result.
Symmes Valley won 62-6 in Week 6. Green travels to Notre Dame on Saturday looking for a more competitive showing against another SOC I opponent.
Valley won 42-10 to keep Northwest winless. Hosting Vinton County offers another opportunity to take a step forward on both sides of the ball.
The Bearcats fell 43-14 at Westfall and remain 0-6. No. 16 Zane Trace visits next, so a much stronger defensive showing is essential.
Miller scored 28 at Fisher Catholic but allowed 41 and is still seeking its first win. Fairfield Christian Academy visits next, giving the Falcons a chance to build on the improved scoring output.
Waverly won 49-0 in Week 6. A trip to Wheelersburg is another difficult assignment as the Oaks search for their first victory.
Belpre's 39-0 win keeps Federal Hocking at 0-6. Hosting Eastern Meigs is the next opportunity for the Lancers to put together a more competitive performance.
No team matches that search. Clear the search to see all 61 teams.
Biggest rises since the Week 5 poll
South Point
Winning 30-24 at Fairland gives the Pointers another useful head-to-head result. At 5-1, South Point moves to No. 12 and hosts Chesapeake looking to keep climbing.
Gallia Academy
The Blue Devils broke through with a 33-13 win at Coal Grove. At 1-5, there is still ground to recover, but hosting Rock Hill offers a chance to build on that result.
South Gallia
The Rebels handled Notre Dame 34-7 to reach 4-2. That head-to-head win strengthens their position, and a trip to Sciotoville is next.
River Valley
The 28-20 win over Wellston provides a clear head-to-head separator between two 2-4 teams. Alexander is next on the road as River Valley looks to build momentum.
Week 7 games to circle
No. 8 Miami Trace just won at Jackson. Now the Panthers visit unbeaten No. 3 Chillicothe in the headline game of this poll.
The unbeaten Vikings host a 4-2 Eastern team with two straight wins. A direct SOC I test with plenty of ranking implications.
West has posted consecutive shutouts. Valley is coming off a 42-10 win and has an opportunity to climb by beating No. 11.
Both are 4-2, and only four ranking spots separate them. This head-to-head game should help sort the crowded middle of the poll.
Athens brings a 5-1 record to Meigs, which is looking to respond to a shutout loss at Nelsonville-York.
The Shermans are 5-1 and just shut out Adena. Piketon hosts with a chance to turn a difficult stretch into a statement win.
Both teams are 3-3, but their Week 6 results were very different. The Tigers won 49-0; the Falcons are seeking a response after a shutout loss.
McClain looks to stop a two-game slide. Washington is coming off a 61-55 win and needs a stronger defensive performance.

These are publication-time snapshots. The approved SEOPS order and records are preserved; Week 6 results and October 2–3 fixtures were checked against the SEOPS scoreboard. The Highland County Press scoreboard was used as a results cross-check. WOUB's Ironton recap confirms overtime.
Two fixtures missing from the rolling SEOPS scoreboard were checked separately: Valley at Portsmouth West and Fairfield Christian Academy at Miller. A duplicate Northwest–Vinton County listing was counted once.
